Urologist in Lubbock, TX
After completing his undergraduate education at the University of Texas in Arlington, Dr. James F Kirk moved to San Antonio, Texas. He earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in San Antonio, as well as a certificate in Urologic residency. In 1984 he was board certified by the American Board of Urology and in 1986, he was accepted as a Fellow by the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Kirk offers a broad range of Urologic services. Over the years he has tailored his practice to specialize in complex female urologic health, including pelvic organ prolapse, stress type urinary incontinence and complex gynecologic reconstruction.
In addition to his role as a physician, Dr. Kirk has also incurred several leadership roles including Chairman of the Department of Surgery and Chief of Medical Staff at St. Mary of the Plains Hospital (now Covenant Children’s Hospital) and Covenant Medical Center. When he is away from the hospital, his interests include playing tennis and golf. Although he thoroughly enjoys quail, dove and pheasant hunting, Dr. Kirk’s real passion revolves around training bird dogs, which he as honed over the past 40 years.
